Common Questions

Will the product react to any known materials?
No, Counteract Balancing Beads will not react with any known metal or material.
Is the product affected by moisture? Does Counteract Clump?
No! Counteract is coated with silicone – and one of the qualities that silicone has, is the inability for products or substances to stick to silicone. Ambient moisture does not affect the product’s performance nor will excessive moisture or mounting lubricant (bead lube) cause clumping with Counteract.
How do I remove the product from the tire?
Counteract is easily removed simply by striking the tire with a tire iron several times along the tread. This will cause the material to fall to the bottom of the tire where it can be scooped or vacuumed out. This is one of the main reasons tire companies prefer Counteract.
Do you need a valve filter to prevent the valve from clogging?
Valve clogging is not an issue with Counteract. Dust or fine material and/or powder is the typical cause of valve clogging. Counteract removes all dust from the material after manufacturing. However, to reduce the possibility of a valve leak, we recommend the use of a long valve core and self sealing valve cap (supplied in every package).
Can I use Counteract Balancing Beads when I have another balancing product installed?
It is not advisable to combine other internal balancing agents or balancing rings with Counteract Balancing Beads. These other products are free flowing internal balancing products, that means that they fall to the bottom at every stop and some turns and have to go through the inertia (vibration) balancing process again after every stop. Counteract Balancing Beads utilize an additional scientific principle that helps stabilize the product in the balanced position. This also applies to duel wheels it is not advisable to have a free flowing product on one of the duel wheels and our product on the other wheel for the same reason. We have international patents on the technology behind Counteract Balancing Beads and we are the only product of its type on the market. If you are using balancing rings or other internal balancing products, remove the product before installing Counteract Balancing Beads.
How is the product installed?
There are three different methods of installation of Counteract Balancing Beads. The simplest and most preferable is the method that uses the throw-in bag in bag packaging. This method involves simply throwing the inside bag into the tire while installing new tires. The air pressure in the tire will collapse and burst the bag, allowing the material to get to work quickly. An air blaster can be used to seat the tire with this method. The second method is to pour the material directly into the tire during installation. The third method is to remove the valve core, remove approximately half of the tire’s air pressure, and inject the material directly into the valve with Counteract’s injector pump.
Do tire manufacturers recommend using Counteract?
Yes, many tire manufacturers company stores use and sell Counteract product world wide. One of the largest tire manufacturers has recommended in writing the use of our product to their company stores. However, some tire representatives, from time to time will advise against using anything including our product, inside their tires. This is not the tire manufacturer’s legal department’s policy.

University of Brazil – Commercial Tire Tread & Tire Temp Evaluation. Results showed that tires balanced with Counteract showed an average 12.8% greater life than non-balanced at all tire positions (truck & trailer). In addition tires balanced with Counteract ran on average 9% cooler than non-balanced tires and 15% cooler than a competitive dynamic balanced using an outer-ring attached to the wheel. At highway speed the Counteract was 10% and 19% cooler respectively.

Counteract Overview

The benefits of balancing the steer tires are well recognized within the industry. Balanced tires reduce rolling resistance by decreasing tire sidewall flexing, tread squirming and friction and help prevent cupping. Studies show tire operating temperatures of balanced tire to run 8-25% cooler (dependent upon type of balancing system) than un-balanced tire.

So why not also balance the drive and trailer tires? For rear and dual tires, the whole wheel assembly needs to balanced together and centered perfectly. The same vibration that the driver feels on the Steer tires also applies to the drive and trailer and is multiplied by the tolerance imperfections of the duel wheel assembly. Unchecked, it is one of the main reasons for wheel fasteners, U-bolts, and torque rod bolts to work themselves loose. The best means to avoid this and improve tire wear and fuel economy through decreased roll resistance is with a dynamic balancing system, such as Counteract.
